Enphase: microinverters not reporting & power line interference (PLC)
An Enphase 'Microinverters Not Reporting' alert means the IQ Gateway has not received expected messages from one or more microinverters. It is not, by itself, proof that those panels stopped producing.
How communication works
Microinverters send information to the Gateway over the home's AC wiring using power line communication (PLC). Electrical noise from some appliances or equipment can interfere with these messages.
Safe checks
- Check during daylight. Compare the alert, panel layout, last report time, and overall production. Grey or missing readings can indicate a communication gap.
- Note whether the problem started after adding an EV charger, pool pump, power supply, or other electrical equipment. These are possible sources of interference, not a diagnosis.
- If safe and practical, briefly stop a suspected appliance using its normal controls and note whether reporting improves. Do not switch off essential medical equipment or equipment needed for safety.
- Photograph the Gateway lights (KM-513) and record which panels are affected and when the alerts occur.
When a technician is needed
Persistent alerts can also come from a microinverter fault, loss of AC power to part of the array, wiring issues, or Gateway configuration. A technician can distinguish missing communication from missing production and check whether filtering is needed.
Do not open the combiner, move wires, bypass breakers, or install a PLC filter yourself. Call or text us at 806-454-7873 with screenshots and any recent electrical changes.
